The famous Reaper is where the major quake a.i. started. The bot's last version is 0.81 and plays very well.

Navigation   Rating 4/5 Rating 4/5 Rating 4/5 Rating 4/5
The navigation of the reaperbot is based on dynamic mapping, this makes the bot go anywhere the player has gone before. When there are no waypoints available the bot will simply roam around and create them by itself. The reaper was one of the first bots to use this kind of navigation.

Combat   Rating 3.5/5 Rating 3.5/5 Rating 3.5/5 Rating 3.5/5
Aggressive is the right word to describe the combat tactics of the reaper. The bot will dodge rockets by strafing, and will also circle strafe in a close encounter. The weapon choice is quite good, it will choose the best weapon, according the distance to the enemy.

Simulation   Rating 2.5/5 Rating 2.5/5 Rating 2.5/5
Client simulation is the weaker part of the reaper. The bot does not show up in the score list, and the way the bot moves is not very human-like, the bot does not turn, but faces directly to an opposite direction.
The bot does understand the use of triggers and buttons in the level.

Modifications   Rating 0.5/5
The reaper was built te be a deathmatch bot, free for all and team modes. The bot cannot play any other mods.

Overall
The reaper suffers from a lot of small bugs and flaws, like disappearing weapons and the bots not showing up in the score list. Too bad the bot was never finished, but it made a real good example of a.i. for a lot of the quake developers. It's an artifact.
